Òtáìbáyòmí

facebook google twitter tumblr instagram linkedin

Darkness loom,
Not even an iota of hope,
Though I'm not aware,
Because am engulfed by my wickedness.

Do I need anything like mercy?
I never thought of such,
But yet he lingered and kept whispering,
"Son, my mercy is available"

Like a young girl whose heart was broken,
He was sad because I kept on refusing him,
But yet he kept on saying,
"Dear son, my mercy is available"

Even though, I made him sad over and over again,
Yet am under his surveillance,
How could I repay your kindness?
Because sacrifice, you do not require.

To the love of my life, I write,
I always will thank you for loving me,
And that you didn't give up on me,
Accept my gratitude.

To the love of my life
To you I gave my heart,
It doesn’t matter where we started,
Or even how we started,
Because back then am worthless,
Even though you loved me before I knew you,
But yet you took me up,
And promised me a greater future,
Hmmm, to the one that love me,
And the one I love,
All I want to say is THANK YOU

**********************************************

To the love of my life 2

Right from the bottom of my heart,
I wrote this great piece,
Just to express my gratitude.
I take a close look at myself,
How useless and unworthy am I,
Not worthy of entering the palace,
Not to talk of sitting at your right hand.
But yet you said
"Am not done with this boy"
I need to bring him close,
To enjoy the luxury of my father's kingdom.
Things I won't ever dream of,
Now become things am enjoying in real life.
You asked me for nothing,
Only if I choose to believe and to follow,
Only if I won't at the end betray you,
You said you paid all the price of entering your father's palace.
Wow, I enjoyed so great a mercy,
To the love of my life
All I want to say is THANK YOU

P.S. : God's mercy is still calling us, we need nothing that to believe and to follow him. Just acknowledge his sacrifice over your life and start a journey of being a disciple with HIM.

help-island.jpg.image.784.410When things wander away,
And men are cast away,
The most painful thing is "they know the way",
They just chose to be led astray.
It is to whom much is given, much will be expected,
Sometimes, it goes beyond what we expected,
But yet, we can't receive beyond what we expected,
Because a man is always what he expected.
We have to work on what we dream of,
So we don't land where we don't dream of,
As for me, not being cast away is what i dream of,
But you, what do you dream of?

I was thinking on how to define Love,
Then I remembered someone said "Love is like a flower",
That can probably wither anytime,
But I commented "that's the love of Men".
Because there is one love shown to me,
Unfailing love stronger that mountain, deeper than ocean,
The love is like rock standing since the inception of earth,
And will stand till the end of ages,
Even the lover is THE ROCK OF AGES.
The love of him that sacrifice his life for us,
Who among men can give up his life because of Love?
But he gave it up as ransom for all.
The love is peace for the broken,
Hope for the hopeless, rest for the weary.
THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
P.S. if you are in need of an everlasting love, I recommend JESUS CHRIST. Try him and see what he is made of

Good day, how was the last blog post?, Please comment are always welcome, you can always comment on the blog or inbox me directly.
Let's move on today about Stephen: A man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit and his impacts.
Another emphasis was in verse 8 of Acts 6.
stephen-a-man-full-of-gods-grace-and-power
NIV:Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
Stephen on account of the fullness of God's grace and power in him, did great wonders and miraculous signs. Not with pride, how do we showcase God's grace and power in our own lives? Or we tend to live a normal Christian life without grace and power?
On account of his enablement to perform signs, opposition arose but the Bible said
NIV:But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.
Stephen has not been speaking of himself neither has he been doing things on his own, this made men not to stand against him. But I will like to ask you words and the wisdom you claim to have is of who? God or self?
These men are desperate to seize him, so they are left with no choice than to produce false witness just because the words of Stephen is of a true God.
Do we remember Moses and the veil, when he went upto the mountains to meet God and came down with a shining face that no man's eyes could behold?, Similar thing happened to Stephen in front of the Sanhedrin. The Bible said
NIV:All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.
This was also as a result of God's grace, power and fullness of the Holy Spirit, I suppose. The challenge remains, how much of this grace and power do we possess?
how-much-of-this-grace-and-power-do-we-possess
I suppose this will propel us to pray and cry more for God's grace and power on our lives, and even more of the holy Spirit.
Share to others as well.
I pray God bless

Let's quickly examine the biblical biography of Stephen from the Acts of the Apostles chapter 6 and 7.
A man full of faith and of the holy Spirit
When it was time for his work to began, there was a complaint in the church (an unsatisfying situation).
Acts 6:1 - In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.

And this revealed someone called Stephen and his potentials. Here are some lessons and challenges
* Sometimes, it's where there is hard time that God is expecting us to show forth the power he embedded in us
* Challenges most times bring out the best in us and thereby showcase us to the world, remember Joseph (if he wasn't sold as a slave he won't become a prime minister in Egypt).

* Are we running from challenges? That's not the best option, face it.
* You won't know you have the strength to handle a situation until such situation come around and when it comes around, you won't still discover the strength untill you decide to face and handle the situation.
Now about the introduction of this man called Stephen in Acts 6:5
NIV:This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.

They chose Stephen "A MAN FULL OF FAITH AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT". This doesn't mean others don't have that qualifications according to Acts 6:3
NIV:Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them
But special emphasis is laid on Stephen.
The Bible said upon the appointment of these men, the word of God spread and the number of disciples increased rapidly. But you know if they haven't managed the situation well, if they haven't perform upto expectations, the unsatisfying situation in the beginning would resurfaced. But with the help of the holy Spirit and God's wisdom. They managed the situation well.
Are we also like them? Are we full of the holy Spirit and God's wisdom? Let's pray that God fill us with his wisdom to manage those unsatisfying situation in our lives and around us.
We shall return later to examine more, till then remain blessed

Compilations of lessons from John 20
Verse 1-2: EARLY on the first day of the week...
This shows the level of commitment of Mary Magdalene and we must emulate this. Yoruba will say "owuro lojo" meaning "morning is precious". So we must seek God early in our lives.
* After she learnt this, she told the disciples about the lose of Jesus body. A common adage will say "problem shared is half solved". Am More so, we must be mindful of those we will share our burden with. She went to the disciples, who have been with Christ.
Verse 3-9:
We know Mr. Simon Peter to be a very zealous man. He came late to the tomb yet was the first to enter. There are some Biblical reference that make me believe he is zealous. Situations like Matthew 14:22-33, when he out of all the disciples request from Jesus to walk on water.
Apostle Paul said For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Romans 10:2 (NIV)
We mustn't be like them in the way we pursue knowledge.
Verse 10-18
This one reiterate Mary's commitment and outstanding love for Christ and that make her to be the first follower of Christ to see Jesus after His death.
Verse 21-23
When He send them, he gave them what they need, the Bible said "He breathed on them and said "receive the holy spirit".
1 Thessalonians 5:24 encouraged that "The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it." He sent you yet he is will give you what you need to be successful. Rely solely on him and he will carry you through the work he committed to your hands.
Verse 29
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”. The blessings is for us because we don't physically witness the resurrection. We walk by faith and not by sight. And you know what we are blessed for walking by faith and believing Christ was raised from dead.

John 15:15
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead I call you friends.....
How much of kingdom business did we know?
Did we even seek to know?
It's one of the reason we are redeemed.
To legislate on behalf of the heavens.
But how will you go about that when you know nothing about the business.
It's high time we left all frivolities, and focus on knowing more about the kingdom, the lifestyle and all.
It's always well with us

You are saved right? Yes you are, but let's examine a portion of the scriptures together.
John 13:10 - NIV:Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”
John 13:10

The Bible says "those who have had a bath". The disciples which Jesus is addressing here have been with him pretty long, they were part of his ministry and more so they were the one Jesus intended to leave the gospel with. So I see them as the ones that have had their bath. Though the Bible says not everyone of them is clean ( he meant Judas Iscariot).

There is this popular Christian hymn "Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power". The first line of the chorus reads "Are you washed in the blood of the lamb." And to be washed in the blood of the lamb you have to "acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, rely on the truth) that God raised Him (Jesus) from dead. Romans 10:9 Amplified version. (Emphasis mine). Literally, those Jesus was talking about are those that have been saved.

In our reference verse (John 13:10), Jesus went further to say "these people are the one that need to wash their feet." Let's first think of that like this. "It's not possible for you not to bathbut just washed your feet and say you are clean." I have seen unbelievers who don't steal, they don't covet others' property. In short, they kept Exodus 20 commandments but yet they don't believe in Christ. I term them as moralist, they kept moral laws. So they need to bath first to be clean.

But Jesus said those that have had their bath need to wash their feet. I see this as a time to time check up of oneself. Medical doctors will recommend a time-to-time medical checkup to run all test just to ensure that you are healthy and so Jesus as the great physician is also recommending that you wash your feet and make sure they are clean just like apostle Paul told the church in Corinth in his second letter that "AMP:Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?"
Wash your feet time to time

Remember, those that have been saved need to wash their feet time to time. I pray it is well with our soul.

Two more lessons as we conclude our sharings this year.

#HumbleBeginnings will not lead to the desired end if your motive is to announce yourself.
David did not fight Goliath to show himself, he did because he couldn't bear a pagan, insulting The LORD.
If your motive is God alone, greatness is within reach.

The path to greatness may not turn out to be the greatest way available.
When David was to fight Goliath, he was offered the armour of Saul, couldn't he have been offered that of Joab, or Jonathan?
The Armour of an earthly king brings setbacks, but the knowledge of God propels unto greatness.

The young man who said of Jesus Christ  "Can anything good, come out from Nazareth?" later referred to Him as Rabbi, and King.

Remember, every tree begins as a little seed.

May the LORD bless you, and sustain you on your days of #HumbleBeginnings.

The LORD sparing us, we shall return on #ChristmasStories17 to explore the theme of #DivineVisitation.
Keep us in your prayers.
We're praying for you too.

Thanks for being part of the edition this year.

Remember the lessons.
Grace always

Your friends,
At the Godly Ideas.
