Creativity: inborn or acquired
My discussion on creativity as to whether it is inborn or acquired started on quora.com where I gave an answer to someone’s question, so, I felt I should pose the question to my Facebook timeline to see people’s opinion on the subject matter. I believe [in life], if we don’t own anything, we own our opinions and we are entitled to it. So I want to take a moment to thank those who respond to the discussion I raised.
Creativity: inborn or acquired. I believed each and every one was born with a point of difference and that form our distinctive demeanor. That point of difference is called talent of which men are expected to trade with it to get the optimum results as to what they are to do in life.
I want to stand with others as they respond in the discussion that creativity is inborn as well as it is acquired and I will cite a case study here to back my opinion up.  It is the case of the ruling dignitaries in the world of football. Can you tell me their names?
As widely believed, they have a very great point of inflection and this is what sponsored people’s interests in the individual [don’t need to know the one I support, you’ll pay to know that]. Wait! Someone doesn’t know who I am talking about… okay, it is the popular Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
I have heard people say and I want to agree that Messi was born a footballer and it comes so easy for him and that is what fuel his light in the world of football because despite his life’s setback he was able to thrive above other men in the sport. And on the other hand, Ronaldo was believed to be a man who worked his way into the limelight –known to be a man driven by success, engaged many means he could to ensure he stay on top of the game –through vigorous training and onerous working out.
The question is what if the man born with it limits himself [probably with his setback] and did nothing to ‘fan it to a flame'. Everyone will agree with me that irrespective Messi still engages himself in one or two training to ensure his talent was defined and refined. And also the one who acquired it still need to ensure he keeps up with the activity that acquires the creativity for him so that he doesn't become stinking and stale over time.
This is the bottom line, whether inborn or acquired, creativity on its own doesn’t make any sense if it wasn’t expressed, polished refined, updated according to the need to time and ensure consistency as a basic key is not being thrown for dogs to play with.
That was just my opinion; I believe I have helped someone, you can do well to drop a comment below and share for others to read.
Ronaldo (CR7) or Messi (LM10) ……. Let me know your choice too.

Let me be like a soothsayer;
You thought I’m living on that thing
Called Oxygen.
After all, those who drank knowledge
To stupor
Said that's where life lies,
They said there, everything has their being,
And the ecological jargons will crumble without it.

What if I say you are wrong!
What if I say the belch of those drunkards
Is intoxicating you real hard?
Because they took in much than they could handle.

Want to know what I lived on?
I lived on the unimaginable!
That will live on when the obvious ended,
I lived on the unseen!
That will become obvious as more years rolled in
Like the pages of the book being turned
You are drawn closer to the epilogue.
Yes! That’s where it is
At the end of everything
That’s where I get my being.

I inhale a person
I take in a personality,
I got life from an immortal;
And I became as such.
Oxygen will fail,
But my source is unending
And I became as such-
Living eternally.
I inhale the invisible
I inhale LOVE.

What else?

Now that the sky rebels,
Changed its hue to that of blood,
Asking for more
So it colour won’t fade away

Now that our creed; our everyday pledge
Sang in pride in ages past,
Now a dirge we sing like snails
          -head in shell

Now that our swords
lost the meaning of brotherhood
And each day drink blood to stupor,
Though we are told they are sticks,
But the carrier uses them on men
thinking we are cattle

Now that life is cruel,
Explosion is like fertilizer
Of which our land craves for
And violence made the movies
We watch each day saying it’s news.

What else?
Where else should we expect more?
2001 – we shouted for peace
2018 – we jos want peace
Artist made illustrations
And Poets – their pen they wield; ready for battle
Yet our leaders hid themselves in the warmth of hypocrisy
And our oppressor in broad daylight.

What else? Maranatha…

The unbelievable

I don't know blood speaks,
Until I saw a spill crying for help.
Same for a stopped heart,
Which wanders and seek who will stop more from being stopped.
I don't know dead bodies can still paint,
Until I saw a peace symbol painted by one,
and a caption "this is what we want".
Same for the land,
That painted X X X
And said "Yes, I want no more".
Excuse me, when will this stop?
When will we once again experience peace?
When will the news splash send signals of happiness?
Though we are starving.
When will our president say the truth?
One,
We are lazy youth,
Two,
The cattle herders carry nothing save a stick.
We only need one thing,
Peace!
If we need any other thing,
It is still peace.
There we could make a living.

Condolences to the bereaved family of the plateau massacre.
Dedicated to You.

As the clock's hand ticked,
Drops of fear were released
To contaminate my still, clear mind
And my ease, there I lost.

Hoping there could be a fast forward,
Maybe, but time will tell.
But its (time) consumption
can give the full gist.

Heat from within can incubate eggs
And its accumulation can pulverise mountain.

Uncertainty is who I sat with,
And my pen bled suspense.

Flashes of fantasies seem real
And my dream, like reality.

Oh, If dreams really convert,
I'd be the richest,
If fantasies are really true,
I'll own an empire-
With a lot of castles.

Fantasies are expensive,
But worthless,
Gotten with so much concentration
But destroyed by the dew of worries.
Castle built in the sky,
Is as worthless as those that never existed.

Life rolled in,
Like a vehicle tyre, I rolled in my childhood,
Responsibilities crept in,
And I knew not.
I'm there supervising the building of my castle,
Knowing that in seconds it's as though it never existed.

Over the years, I had no choice,
Than to believe the sweet bitter truth,
That dreams doesn't convert as I hoped,
They are nurtured and cared for,
Then the pictures conceived is painted.
And fantasies became reality.

I read through my news feed on Facebook this morning to catch up latest gist and news from friends and pages I followed and there was this group I have not been active lately, so I was not aware there a challenge on, so I took my time to catch with what it is and people accepting the challenge. But there was this comment that made me write this article. It read thus;

I have been seeing people accepting this challenge, please is money involved? [Paraphrased and edited]

Well, the comment have many interpretation, only if we get that which the writer really meant, but a closer look at it is "he can't do it if money is not attached".

Sometimes, what makes our life meaningful is value, the difference between a market woman and me is the value I added to myself. Value is an essential to every man who desired greatness, it can't be traded for anything.

Have you get to a point in time when you will feel down, when you'd feel there's nothing you are capable of doing, or when some trace of inferiority complex begin to manifest? It's the value you've added to yourself overtime that will be of much help that time.

I believed life can be so cruel and apparently can be as gentle as a day old child, but in everything add value to yourself. Sometimes value does necessary results to money. That's what I saw wrong in the comment above. More than Money, add value, in due time, money will come.

Take for example, a young Kenyan lad named Kelvin Doe who was busy building a music player from scraps around his environ, who's now a visiting lecturer in Massachusetts institute of technology and was opportuned to feature in a TED talks. When he was busy adding value, he never know all these will come.

Add value, that's the best you can do to yourself, it claims some ungotten deserved respect. This is the simple truth, just try it, add value.

A dirge for 2017

I thought would love you forever,
Forgetting the fact that you'd leave one day.
I thought our days will last like that of a Palm tree,
Forgetting the fact that we have only 365 days together.

Being with you,
Is like taking a course
I've got to show up in classes and write examinations
And my attendance obviously inevitable.

I'm sorry, I've got to let go,
Yay, because you taught me to aim high.
A dirge for you,
That's the best I have for you.

"Like dinosaur
You left for extinction,
No year can be like you.
It can only come in your likeness.

Reminiscence of days
Spent together,
Make my eyes sources of
Flow unending,
And I seem blue.
at times,
I'll call for celebration,
Blessing the good memories I had
In your days.

Goodbye 2017,
Your brother 2018 took your place,
I hope he's much better than you"

Look through my archive,
In my own brain- my hard drive,
I've been alive,
Even though haven't yet arrive,
But yet I didn't crash dive.

I'm well sure enemies connive,
But God never keep their dreams alive.

I will thrive,
Just like your wishes descrived
I will survive,
Even though I find myself in a beehive.
And my prayers is your value won't nosedive,
And for good things you won't be deprived.

For the love I appreciate,
I pray it will never depreciate.
Goodness and mercy will be your associates,
Riches and goodies will always be at your gate.
For this is God's mandate.

Thank you everyone for the love you showed to me. For the call, the messages, the Facebook posts, the wishes on my timeline, the WhatsApp statuses. I really appreciate it. I'm humbled by your testimonies and much reason I need to get better.

I'm not writing this because it's normal to say thank you -maybe that's why it's coming late. But when I reflected, I felt loved and I need to say thank you to everyone.

I'm well sure next year will be greater as you've challenged me.

Let's get better together,
See you at the top.

Let’s do a visitation,
To yourself, you caged in a cage,
Let’s get some refreshment,
To feed your inner man who starved for ages.

Days are counting, time is going,
Gray hairs are rushing
To manifest and weakened you,
Yet your real self was bolted.
Locked in the cage you built with your own hands.

You’ve got a definition,
Can I ask what?
Out of frustration you threw the key,
That unlocks desires along with unwanted responsibilities,
Away in an abyss that can't be reach,
Because you don’t want to reach.

Back in the days when you boil,
When you vow to rise and shine,
And be a powerful solvent that extracts dreams,
From ‘guys’ who run and shout for help,
But now they are the one who volunteered to help,
And help you get back on the track.

What has become of you, my dear?
You used to set the pace while others follow,
But now you are on the sycamore tree watching,
Applauding men who make waves in their generation,
On the sideline you are, saying,
‘I used to be a contestant in that race’

Let’s go on a visitation please,
And visit you locked in the prison,
Which you built with your own hands,
Let’s write an appeal dear,
To yourself who judged yourself
And sentenced yourself to life imprisonment.

You can always be better,
Pardon yourself and move on,
Greater heights lie ahead to stand and shine,
And a brighter future to explore.
